What is Anxiety? How can Hypnosis help?

FFirst of all, anxiety is a fear-based emotion. Anxiety is a term used to describe several disorders in the brain, and they are directly related to apprehension, nervousness, unease, fears, agitation, restlessness. If symptoms persist for a prolonged period of time, say more than six months, then it develops to anxiety disorders and becomes more debilitating in your life. Generally people become overly concerned with the future; such as raising a family and paying bills, etc. In fact anxiety is an unpleasant emotion that affects directly on your behaviours, leading to untoward consequences. Hypnosis is an excellent technique to help sufferers to ease their feelings, emotions, behaviours, etc.

What are the common Triggers for Anxiety?

1. Human Brain’s Chemistry x Hypnosis:

WWe have neurotransmitters in our brain cells and they need to function of properly to carry the information from one cell to another in the brain network. Hypnosis facilitates profoundly to help carry those friendly chemicals to where they are needed most. Example of neurotransmitters: Acetylcholine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, glutamic acid, GABA, aspartic acid, glycine, vasopressine, somatostatin, neurotensin, etc. The happy chemistry is composed of these four chemicals: Oxytocin, Dopamine, Endorphins and Serotonin – The Happy ODES! Especially Oxytocin that is the “Love Hormone”.

2. Environmental Factors:

The environment that we are related to influences directly on how we capture information and consequently dictates our behaviour or decision making. If we are living in a healthy environment it is unlikely that we would feel disturbed emotionally; however, if we are part of a dysfunctional family, friendship, workplace, financial situations, grief, losses, divorce, etc then it can certainly affect our brain chemistry by leading our behaviours to go wrong and develop anxiety disorders. Nobody is alone in this scenario as it affects millions and millions in North America alone. Hypnosis is becoming a primary safe source to treat such conditions as opposed to a large menu of drugs, whether pharmaceutical or not.

3. Genetic:

Have you ever noticed whether your predecessors suffer from anxiety or its related disorders? If Yes, then there is a likelihood of developing those symptoms eventually during your lifetime. The string may come from parents or relatives that experienced anxiety by avoiding going places or avoiding situations by remaining in silent by themselves.

4. Financial Burden:

Many of my hypnosis clients relate their behaviour to their financial struggles and responsibilities; mainly if they are in charge of feeding a family and paying for housing. That’s very true and millions are in this picture on a daily basis. Excessive overload and preoccupation affect our brain chemicals in an untoward direction. Hypnosis helps those people overcome their struggles by means of awareness and mindfulness. I love to help my clients to use this as a mantra: “I am Loving my Awareness”.

5. Drugs misuse:

The use of street drugs in unconventional dosages may cause your brain to misfire the neurotransmitters. Some of them have a short duration and when the levels wear out anxiety, depression may come your way. Not only street drugs, but misuse of pharmaceutical drugs can also lead to bad consequences.

6. School and the workplace:

Who does not need schooling and a job? Yes, we all need it somehow, sometime in our lifetime. Needless to say but bullying, harassment, competition are great contributors to our distress levels. It does not matter whether we are kids or adults, bullying, harassment and competition are our enemies, and being bombarded on a frequent basis with those negative inputs in our brain can only lead to misfiring of brain chemicals, leading to anxiety related disorders. Hypnosis helps you in acquiring Confidence, Self-esteem to boost you up and face untoward situations like bullying in a very positive way.

Therapies that can help you get rid of anxiety:

CCertainly there are several ways to manage anxiety. Hypnotherapy is a very effective way to deal with your inner Thoughts, Emotions and Feelings. In fact there are studies proving that hypnotherapy can be much more effective than talk therapy. Cognitive behavioural therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming, EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique, etc. All of these help to boost mental health, improve your influence and accelerate your personal and professional growth. Other approaches such as a healthy diet, exercises, a good night sleep are very good anchors for your treatment. Please remember that when you go to sleep, hypnosis takes place automatically, so it is a good time to self-suggest healing to your subconscious mind at bedtime or when you get up in the morning.
